Sarah Stavridis

Summer Student

Sarah is a JD candidate at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law in unceded Algonquin territory and recently completed her second year. At the University of Ottawa, Sarah has been involved in the Ottawa Law Review, the Indigenous Human Rights Clinic, and the Indigenous Lands and Consultation Hub. Sarah previously worked at the Ministry of the Attorney General as an Aboriginal Law Summer Student. Before starting law school, Sarah worked for a firm conducting Residential School research using archival records and oral histories from survivors.

 Sarah attended Western University for her undergraduate degree, where she specialized in accounting and Indigenous studies. During her undergrad, Sarah received a grant to conduct archival research on federal Indian Day Schools operated in Six Nations of the Grand River. She was invited to present this research with her supervisor, Dr. Cody Groat, at the Canadian Historical Association’s Annual General Meeting in 2023. 

Sarah is a second-generation Macedonian immigrant who was raised in southwestern Ontario on Three Fires Confederacy Lands. In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading, going to concerts, discovering new coffee shops and restaurants, and spending time with friends.
