Jessica Labranche is an associate with Pape Salter Teillet LLP and specializes in Indigenous rights law, with an emphasis on litigation.
Jessica’s litigation practice focuses on consultation and accommodation matters, land entitlement issues, and Indigenous and treaty rights, including the Crown’s treaty implementation obligations with respect to pre-confederation and post-confederation numbered treaties. She has appeared before courts at all levels of appeal, including, the Supreme Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal. Jessica has advised First Nation clients in Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba.
Prior to joining Pape Salter Teillet LLP, Jessica practiced with a firm specializing in Aboriginal rights law based in Montreal, Quebec. She also interned at the Commission for Environmental Cooperation Secretariat where she focused on submissions on enforcement matters filed against the Canadian Government.
Jessica received her LL.B and BCL from McGill University. She is called to the bar in Ontario and is a member of the Indigenous Bar Association.
